Since your bellys measurements should be in close keeping with how far along you are in weeks -give or take one to three centimeters - the doctor is using the results of said measurements to ascertain your baby's fetal growth and development. It's a pretty accurate way of telling whether baby is or isn't growing right.

What he is measuring is known as the 'height of the fundus'. All this means is that it is a reliable and quick way of measuring how far gone you are in pregnancy - determined by the size of your uterus. It is nothing to worry about and allows your Dr to get a rough idea of how many weeks you are.

He measured the size of your pregnancy and to see if the size of your baby is equal with the size of the pregnancy. he was measuring from the end of the linia negra until your pelvic bone.it is a simple measurement which indicate the age of your pregnancy. if you have an ultrasound it will reveal almost the same thing. good luck!

He is probably just measuring the growth and size of the baby. As well as how your growth is progressing. Don't be shy to ask your doctor to clarify his actions at any time. You have the right to know what he is doing and why he is doing it. I am sure he will be more than willing to explain.

Measuring the growth inside your belly. You have to understand that for every week that passes by you baby grows by the inch. And this is shown not just by ultrasound but by measurement also. It is also used by the doctors to identify whether the size of the baby is within the normal size vis a vis the number of weeks you are pregnant.
