How Do I Clean My Baby's Umbilical Cord?

I am trying to remember everything that the nurse taught me about caring for my baby, but I forgot how to clean his umbilical cord. Am I supposed to wash his umbilical stub when I give him his sponge bath?

If you keep on forgetting what has been taught to you, then you might as well get a white board and hang it in your bathroom or in the place where you give your baby a bath. write everything the nurse told you to do in caring for your baby. every time you give her a bath you read all of the things you've written then follow the steps.
If you don't have the guts, don't wash his umbilical cord at the same time you give him a bath. you clean it separately so to avoid accidents. besides you need to have guts in cleaning it,since it is very delicate and sensitive. proper dressing should be applied.
