My Son Hates Getting His Hair Cut.
|
I have a 2 year old son who can't stand to get his hair cut. I've always been a fan of clean cut hairstyles on men and I really don't like when his hair gets too long. When he's in the chair he moves around and screams. Afterward, it takes a long time to get him to calm back down. The last time I took him to a salon the hairdresser said that "maybe he could come back when he's older." I was mortified. How can I make haircuts less traumatizing for my son?

Sunday 21st of March 2010 05:25:02 AM My son was just exactly how your son reacts before having his hair cut. It took us a while before I can find and nice salon where he can be comfortable and unafraid of the hairdresser. Try to bring him to a kids salon where the seats are made with cars. I also tried an experiment where I or my husband gets to have a hair cut and we just let him go so he'll see that its normal to have a hair cut done. Then after some time he just tags along and lets his hair cut as long as we get our (my or my husband) hair cuts first. And one more thing, they really hate it when some of the trimmed hairs touches their skins. So do your best to avoid it from happening.
