Where Do You Change A Diaper If You Are In An Open Area?

We were recently at a small music festival in a park and I had to change my baby's diaper. There were only outhouses available, but I felt weird exposing my son in front of a crowd of strangers. I ended up, trying to discreetly change him behind a tree. Where is a the proper place to change a baby in an open public space?
