Being Consistent Isn't Always Easy.
|
My two year old is taking the terrible twos by storm. His tantrums are at times nothing less than monumental. There have been so many times where he's thrown a fit over wanting something as simple as a cookie before dinner that my husband and I are just about at our wit's end. We feel like if we give in once, he'll expect it again, but it would be so much easier to just let him have the cookie and end the tantrum. Are we wrong to stand our ground? Are we being too strict? How do we find a middle ground without reinforcing his bad behavior?

Friday 23rd of April 2010 04:07:00 AM Usually it is very hard to tame tantrums of a baby or toddler. This is the time that sometimes you cant understand them. What I did was, I just speak in a small voice then talk to him. Let him listen. I have read this in a book, about parenting, just show your constant love to him and explain continously. He will just learn to behave. Treat him like an old man.
