I'm Afraid To Start Her On A Pacifier.
|
When my baby is crying she likes to suck on my finger. It seems to calm her pretty fast. I'm considering giving her a pacifier, but I don't want to give her a habit that will be hard to break in the future. I can't let her suck on my fingers every time she cries. Are there any other options besides pacifiers to help calm her?

Thursday 18th of March 2010 07:12:51 PM Letting a child suck on your fingers is highly unsanitary and is just asking for her to become sick. The natural calming mechanism for a child is to suck. If you are worried about your child becoming dependent on a pacifier, them limit her access to one to only the times when its absolutely needed, like in times when she is fussy and looking for that extra bit of soothing!
