Is It The Skin To Skin Touch That's Calming Him?
Sometimes when my baby is crying at night, I can't get him to calm down. My husband, who sleeps shirtless, will hold him against his chest and he stops crying almost immediately. Is it the skin to skin contact that is calming him down, or does my baby just not like me?

When your child lays on your husbands chest, without the obstruction of clothes, he is able to hear his heartbeat very easily. This, in combination with the warmth of skin to skin contact, mimics the time he was in the womb. When he was in your womb, all he heard the whole time was your heart beating!
