Is There A Difference Between Colic And Reflux?
|
My son has an appointment this afternoon for his stomach problems. He cries after feedings and there is nothing I can do to make him feel better. A friend of mine said that her baby had reflux. Is there a difference between colic and reflux and how do I know which is hurting my baby?

Thursday 18th of March 2010 07:24:32 PM Colic is primarily caused by gas and generally occurs in the evening hours. Reflux is caused when stomach acid moves from the stomach and up the esophagus, causing a burning sensation. There is really no way to know which is causing your child discomfort without consulting your child's pediatrician.
