I'm Not Sure Who The Father Is
|
I was at a party a few weeks ago and I ended up having a one night stand. I know the father's first name, but I don't know how to contact him. I can't afford to pay for this baby on my own. How do I go about finding him? Do I have to prove paternity before he is legally responsible for any of the expenses?

Sunday 21st of February 2010 03:16:30 PM I am sure you can find him!someone from the party definitely know him.My guess is that you need to find him and talk with the guy.
we will decide together what to do further.it is hard to decide what to do by yourself.
usually guys are very scared by this moment but I am sure you together can override this moment.

Thursday 18th of February 2010 04:29:19 AM The best way to get into contact with him is to make enquiries from the person whose party it was. If he was invited to the party and others saw you together at the party then someone will know him and know how to get hold of him. If you have had sex with anyone else around the same time then paternity will definately have to be established. If he was the only one then it would really depend on the guy. You may find that because he doesn't know you he has no reason to trust you are telling the truth so he may very well request a paternity test. This can be done early in pregnancy already through an amniocentesis.

Thursday 18th of February 2010 07:15:23 AM You can find out who he is by doing some detective work - ask friends who were at the party with you. It is an awkward subject to broach with someone who is in effect a stranger. To qualify for expenses, you would need proof he is the father unless he actually agrees to help out (assuming he believed he is the dad). A paternity test would then be needed and he would have to pay. See your Dr and your social worker for the best way to handle this.

Sunday 21st of February 2010 06:44:21 AM I think the best way to contact you is to ask people you know and who were at the party, if the knowledge is also seek contact him. You could then face the situation. Good luck

Thursday 4th of March 2010 03:47:03 AM That is a problem, a real problem that calls for a job of a lawyer. Proving paternity is an easy thing to do but asking the father to be responsible is something that will take a lot of hardship for you. It is so stressful for you and eventually for the baby. A lawyer will help you on this or better yet, consult your parents as what to do first.
