Does Co-sleeping Put My Baby At Risk For Sids?
|
My wife and I can't seem to get our 6 week old to sleep anywhere but in our arms. Last night, she fell asleep with us in bed, so we left her there. It was the first time we had a solid 4 hours of sleep in weeks. We're thinking about doing this more often. Does co-sleeping put my baby at risk for SIDS?

Thursday 18th of March 2010 07:44:22 PM Co-sleeping increases your childs risk of death, yes. Not by SIDS, but by accidental suffocation, caused by someone rolling over on him in the middle of the night. If you are looking to co-sleep, they sell co-sleep beds that add an extension off the side of your bed. So the baby still feels like he/she is still in bed with you, but is safely in their own bed.
