Maternity Clothes On A Budget
|
I wasn't financially prepared for this pregnancy. I was looking at maternity clothes and they are very expensive. Do you have any tips on how to dress appropriately on a budget?

Thursday 4th of March 2010 03:47:38 AM Maternity clothes shouldn't be flashy and expensive. There are several ready to made dresses in shopping malls that you can buy and not in pairs. You can buy the cheapest one but looks smart and comfortable. Don't buy maternity dress in pair. Buy one stretchable pants and a couple of three pieces of blouse which you could use alternately with one single pants. It's just 5 or 6 months that you will use it anyway.

Monday 15th of February 2010 01:50:40 AM Well, dressing does depend if you are working or not. Obviously, if you need to go to work, then you will need some fancier clothes. What I did, was to buy pants that have quite stretchy elastic in the waist area, in a size or two too big for me. I bought a nice black pair that was suitable for work. If you are just at home, you could wear over-sized T-shirts, and tracksuit pants work well as well. You do not have to buy an excessive amount of clothes, after all, it will only be for a few months.

Sunday 14th of February 2010 09:14:55 AM Go online and search for maternity clothes. you will find a wide range of garments online and also several which are having discount sales. You could buy clothes\e which are stretchable and which you can wear right through your pregnancy. Just ensure that the clothes are not tight. Maybe you have freinds and relatives who have hand me downs for you and if you are close enough to them you could borrow these for a while.

Wednesday 17th of February 2010 03:50:18 PM I certainly shared your experience. When I was having my daughter, I was not working, so it was easy to get by on just a couple of maternity dresses, and I carried a small tummy, so most of my regular clothes fit. With my son, I was employed, so I purchased inexpensive fabrics for a few dresses and tunics, and just two pairs of pants. The pants also doubled for other occasions with three baby-doll tops. It was cheaper to get your clothing sewn than to buy from a store. Perhaps you can try these tips.

Monday 15th of February 2010 04:20:55 AM If you have a bunch of clothes that are in stretch materials. You're pretty good to go. You can buy the usual clothes for women, it doesn't have to be specialty maternity clothes. As long as you get clothes with an empire cut (a top of dress that cuts right below the breasts), you're pretty good to go. If you were fairly belly-fitting, it is quite ok. It is a trend nowadays to be proud of your baby bump. You can still continue to wear your same jeans if you just invest in one of those pants extenders so you won't have to buy a new set of pants everytime. These extenders adjust as your tummy gets bigger.
