I Want To Breastfeed But Have Inverted Nipples.
I am expecting my first daughter in 3 weeks and I want to breastfeed. I have inverted nipples and I'm afraid that she won't be able to latch on. Is there anyway for a woman with inverted nipples to successfully breastfeed?

I have inverted nipples and I have successfully breastfed 4 children. After my first daughter was born I'll admit that getting her to latch on properly was difficult. I had a wonderful lactation consultant who showed me how to help the baby latch on. She also gave me a set of nipple shields which you can use over your own nipples while the baby is nursing to help draw them out. After a few weeks of breastfeeding, my nipples had been drawn out to the point where I never had a problem again. So I'm living proof that it can be done. Good luck!
