Stretch Marks
I work very hard to keep my body beautiful. I'm ecstatic about being pregnant, but I am afraid of developing stretch marks. Is there anything I can do to avoid them?

The skin stretches to a maximum limit during pregnancy and the stretchmarks appear becasue of the elasticity of the skin being pushed too far. What you should do to ensure that your skin remains in good conditon is to apply a good moisturing lotion or something like olive oil on your tummy a few times a day. This softens the skin and helps it to stretch without breaking. Another problem when the skin stretches is the unbearable itching. Wear loose soft clothing and apply a good cream whenever the itching becomes unbearable. Your doctor may prescribe a lotion or a cream for this.

Usually women that do stretch marks are women white and blond type of skin, the sensible type of skin. the brunettes are doing a little hard those stretch marks.so if you are a brunettes you will not be doing them. But to be sure of it just try to get with a lot of cream.2 or 3 times a day.If the skin is stretching naturally then your skin will be safe.

Stretch marks are things that you can't avoid during pregnancy. As you're baby grows inside of you, it stretches out your tummy. What you can do is have a daily swab of lotion around your tummy. I believe coconut virgin oil helps a lot. It is sold over the counter in any drug store and I don't see any bag implications on this for your baby. It is made of natural coconut oil.

Unfortunately stretch marks are one of the lovely side affects of pregnancy. You can use vitamin E cream daily and it will help decrease them but it will not stop them completely. Stretch marks will lighten up after you have the baby so don't freak out when you get them. I always tanned in the tanning bed after my pregnancy and it seemed to cover them up a little more.

Exercise, hydration are the top two that you can do. Initially, being active would already make your body is elastic so make sure you are already active before you go into pregnancy. And keep your body hydrated. Water will nourish the skin and keep it healthy and elastic. The use of virgin coconut oil or olive oil or a mass of lotions and body butter claim that stretch marks can be prevented and removed but the truth is, once you've got them, they're there. So prevention is the key.

Stretch marks are determined by your genes - if your mum had them, chances are you will too. You can prevent them by maintaining a healthy weight during pregnancy (most women put on about two stones) exercising, drinking lots of fluid and the secret to keeping skin flexible - being mad about moisturising. Use something like bio oil which is readily available from all supermarkets and pharmacies. You need to slather this on at least twice daily. When bathing, use bath oils to help keep skin elastic and I personally used to 'seal' the oil in by applying bio oil and then applying a layer of cocoa butter on top. I did this 4-5 times a day. My mum had a tummy like a road map and im pleased to say that two pregnancies later, my stretchmarks are hardly noticable. They are really fine, are below the bellybutton and are silvery white. Im convinced if I hadn't moisturised with oil and cocoa butter, I too would have had really bad stretch marks.
