Is Minimum Wage Expected For Babysitting Services?

My wife and I are trying to figure our whether or not we can afford a full time babysitter or if one of us should plan to work from home. In order to crunch numbers we need to figure out an estimated wage for our potential babysitter. Is minimum wage expected for babysitting services?

One of the most important decisions you will make for your child is their care. You may be able to find someone to babysit for under minimum wage but would you really want that person watching and caring for your child everyday? I always try to pay about $0.50 over minimum wage to all of my babysitters and I have never had a problem with any of them.
