Is It Better To Hire A Nanny From A Service, Or Can I Hire Independently?

I called a nanny service and I was taken aback by how expensive their fees were on top of the the nanny's pay. My wife and I were talking about hiring a nanny independently through and advertisement. Are there any advantages to hiring from a nanny service or can I find a reliable nanny independently?

You can most definitely hire a qualified nanny on your own. Most services will charge you tens of thousands of dollars for things that you can do on your own. I would suggest that you run a couple of ads and interview your candidates. You can do your own background check on them through the FBI or through several internet websites.
