Use Of Hot Tubs Or Suanas During Pregnancy
I am planning a retreat with my friends this weekend. Our package includes the use of a hot tub and sauna. Are they safe for my baby or should I avoid them altogether?

Hot baths and saunas can lower your blood pressure and this can be dangerous for you and your baby. It can cause you to faint which in a sauna or hot tub can be very dangerous. If you have other complications such as anaemia as well, this can be even more of a problem. My advice is to leave these wel alone and go for a swim instead!

I would avoid them all together. When you sit in hot tub or sauna the hot temperatures will cause your blood pressure to rise. This would pose a bid threat to you and your baby. The only solution would be to just stick your feet in the hot tub but stay away from the sauna.

Saunas are a definate no-no. Avoid the sauna at all costs. Hot tubs are allowed but only if the water is not too hot and you shouldn't stay in the water too long. It's not so much that it will harm the baby, but that there is a risk of bringing on premature contractions.

The use of a whirlpool and sauna do not think that can cause hindrance to have some fun with your friends. However be cautious and alert you and your baby and do not abuse.

Actually there is nothing wrong in using the hot tub and sauna during pregnancy. The risk is actually very minimal but what I do know is the to0 high temperature may cause damage to the baby. Hot tub and sauna are both relaxing, I should say but you have to minimize the temperature and not stay so much inside the sauna room.

It is better to avoid hot tubs and saunas as they can have an negative impact on your baby due to the high temperatures a hot tub or sauna can have. If you 'overheat' this might not only make you sick but it can actually make your blood pressure drop. High blood pressure is no good, but low blood pressure can also be dangerous for the baby as it will get less oxigen. Im am sure there are alternatives like a nice massage or facial treatment you can have while your friends sit in the hot tub.
