High Risk, Can I Still Masturbate?
I'm 29 weeks along, and I'm having a difficult pregnancy. I started having bleeding about a week ago and the doctor told me that I can't have sex. Is it still okay to masturbate as long as there is no penetration?

This is a difficult one because I don't know enough about what the Dr has told you or the reasons for bleeding. It may be worth asking your Dr if its ok to be intimate without penetration. If the answer is yes, then the same would apply for masturbation.

If you are having a difficult pregnancy, started bleeding, and have been instructed by your doctor not to have sex, the answer is no. It isn't the penetration your OB is concerned about, it is the contracting your uterus does when you reach climax. If you are bleeding, it could mean a weakness in your cirvix. My best advice is to specifically ask your doctor why he/she decided that you had to abstain. I imagine that your doctor is concerned about premature labor, and any contractions in your uterus could cause that to happen. In the mean time, take a cold shower, and find other ways to be intiate without endangering your baby.

Your doctor has advised you not to have sex. Having masturbation is also an act of sex, which can affect the baby. It is better if you just strain from having both activities until the baby comes. If you really love the baby inside you, you should take extra care of your body and extra care of that tiny lovely creation inside you.
