Well it is a genetic conditon and if there is a history of multiple births on either side of the family there is every possibility that you may have twins. However your doctor will be able to tell you whether you ar ehaving twins or not. if you have gone through any fertility treatment this also gives rise to multiple births.

There are scientific proofs that multiple births run in genes. I believe so that you have high chance of having twins. Should you worry about it? But it would also depend on what kind of lifestyle you have and your age. If your partner is young and still very active or athlete then he'll produce strong sperms but if you're stressed type of woman, busy and had a lots of follicles you might not get the twins. If you want twins better prepare your body first like drinking folic acid and vitamins for pregnancy.

My mother is an identical twin and we have four other sets of twins on her side. It is hereditary but it is not guaranteed. Twins skip a generation which means it would be your turn to have them. Twins are still rare so you would have to leave it up to a higher power!

There is a definite link between family history of twins and having twins yourself. If your partner has twins on his side of the family, then the chances of having multiples increases even more. There is a good chance that future pregnancies could result in twins, but there is no definite way of telling you if you will have them.

if in your family history there are pairs of twins the possibilities for having twins are high. But don't be worry it is not necessary, only possible. As my knowledge not every generations make twins. If your mother has twin it is possible you to not have, but your kids will have.It is only at the second generations, so you are out of it.
