Caffeine During Pregnancy
My doctor says that caffeine is not good for me while I'm pregnant. I typically drink 3 or 4 cups of coffee a day. Decaffeinated coffee has a reduced amount of caffeine in it. Would it be safe to drink decaf?

There is no evidence pointing to whether decaf is not safe to drink - so go ahead and enjoy. Regular coffee drinkers have been found to have a direct impact on pregnancy and is a mjor factor in stillbirth. Those drinking more than 8 cups a day increased their chances of stillbirth by a whooping 300%. Take the decaf option and try and reduce the amount you drink.

It is not recommended to drink caffeine while pregnant but it will not kill you or the baby. Decaf coffee would be just fine for you to drink. Try to cut back to two or three cups instead of three or four and you will be just fine.

The doctors believe that during pregnancy, future mommy should not consume more than 2 coffee a day. They claim that Mums who drink coffee more, may have children with a smaller weight at birth. The coffee reduce the absorption of iron in body and calcium needed for healthy pregnancy. So, drink decaffeinated coffee I know it is good too.

yes, definitely the decaf coffee is perfect for yo now.I have drunk only normal coffee, but very less, only a small cup of coffee, only in the morning. My doctor said it is ok, especially that I am a low blood pressure person. So a little one won't hurt.the decaf. is healthy but not very helpful to keep you awake, especially if you need it!

The doctor said so, he knows best. Do you know that caffeine is present in all coffee? It's just a matter of lesser percentage of caffeine for others. Tea has caffeine too. And caffeine affect the bay's heart. Worst scenario is stillbirth or miscarriage so might a well do not drink anything with caffeine. Drink pasteurized milk instead, it's good for the baby.

I refrained from any coffee beverages whatever they are when I was pregnant. Even if it is decaf, still it has caffeine and it can be dangerous to your baby's health and development. Just substitute fruit juices like lemon juice. Of course, you'll feel sleepy all the time especially in the afternoon when you're pregnant but you can always go for little walks to keep you awake.
