When Can I Lift Things?
|
I had a c-section 2 weeks ago and I'm starting to feel really great. I want to start doing things around the house. Can I start to lift things again or do I have to wait for clearance from my doctor at my 6 week appointment?

Sunday 7th of March 2010 11:13:15 PM I am a mother who had a c-section like you. My advise to you is wait for the right time for you to work as before. Lifting things especially heavy ones is not safe for you. The only weight that you can carry now is the weight of your child. Wait until the right time comes. focus you attention to your child for the time being.

Thursday 1st of July 2010 02:48:16 AM The normal work you can do but dont try to lift up the heavy things as it will give lots of strain on your stitches and they can get pulled .Normally doctors said till your bleeding does not stop dont lift up the things but normal routine work you can do not the exercise.

Wednesday 24th of March 2010 08:13:03 AM great to hear that after just 2 weeks you are feeling great, but it does not mean you are able to start lift things, the best thing to do now is wait until your appointment coz usualy who had a cesarian is advise to dont lift anything and dont do abrupte moviments during the first 45 days after the c-section, so wait your doctor and probably is the best thing to do, your incision can heal fast from outside to inside, but it will take months to be totally healed inside.
