How Do I Keep My C-section Incision Clean?
|
While I was in the hospital, the nurses cleaned my incision site daily. Now that I am home, I have to take care of it myself and I forgot to ask how. How do I clean my incision site correctly?

Monday 31st of May 2010 03:55:48 PM The best thing to do would be just to dab it lightly with warm water. When I had my last baby via c-section the hospital put a dressing on it, which I was told to leave on for a week, and they also gave me a spare in case I got this one wet too much and it came away, but I never used it in the end, once I lost the first one, 3 days after my c-section, I just showered, and dabbed my wound, and it was fine.Just keep an eye on it, and if you think that there is something wrong or if it flares up or gets sore or red then go and see your DR.

Thursday 1st of July 2010 02:46:12 AM Clean your inciison daily twice or thrice with peroxide an d ask the doctor also which is the better medicine for this and dont forget to clean it daily few times otherwise these stitches can get infected also and may be you feel itching also but dont try to do that as it can also hurt the incision also

Wednesday 24th of March 2010 08:10:36 AM hello there, don't touch your incision so much okay, the best way to clean is during your shower, you should buy an antiseptical soap to wash your incision and use tincture of iodine after you have took your shower and get your incision dry, and cover with a gaze after that but don't cover with another things coz the incision need to be dry otherwise it will be more likely to get infectionate. Cheers and good lucky.
