How Do I Know If My C-section Incision Is Infected?
|
I had a c-section 5 days ago. The area around my staples is red, sore and damp. Is this normal? Should I call my doctor? How do I know if my c-section incision is infected?

Wednesday 24th of March 2010 08:02:15 AM usualy when the incision start get red, and it be hard to touch around the incision usualy is one of the suymptoms of infection, but if you get any infections the symptoms of fever will come together, so look behind and check if you present, fever, fluid dropping in your incision, if the fluid has colour and smell, so that are what signs the infections. Good Lucky.

Thursday 1st of July 2010 02:42:08 AM If it is getting red and you are feeling little pain there it could be some infection is there or it could the case of pulling the stitches due to which all this happening daily clean the area with peroxide and show to your midwife or doctor as they tell you the best what can you do for this.

Friday 6th of August 2010 07:08:42 AM Also had a c-section. Had pains everywhere including the incision of course. And I did noticed the incision's holes are red. But it didn't bothered me actually as long as there's no discharge or such that may indicate an infection. So if there is pain and there's discharge like fluid or pus, better check with your health care provider immediately.
