My Wife Wants Me At Appointments.
I just found out that my wife is expecting our first child. I'm happy that a baby is coming, but I'm a little shaky on the pregnancy part of it. My wife wants me to go with her to the doctor appointments, but truthfully, I'm not sure I want to see what he's doing. Will he do exams and do I have to watch that part?

the watching part is up to you, but I guess you can be with her on those moments! It is good for her psihic to know her husband is there, supportive, and also interested in this matter. A woman feel in a different way about an unborn child, than men! Usualy men are involved in this issue after he baby is born. And to know better, after the first genital inspection, nothing happens than the ultrasounds which are on her belly, so....

As a husband you should go with her to her appointment with the doctor. You are the one who can give her moral support in this situation. It really depends on the doctor if she/he will allow you to see what he/she is doing while performing the exams. But this is I would like to tell you, TRUST your doctor they know better.

Mostly, regular appointments are not too invasive. The doctor just weighs the mom and will perhaps do an ultrasound. It will be a good thing for you to go with her. You will feel more part of the whole process and will be able to voice your concerns and questions as well. I am sure that she will appreciate your support. Besides, seeing your baby in your wife's tummy is a wonderful experience, one that you wouldn't want to miss. It will also help you to be more prepared for the actual birth, when your wife will definitely need your support.
