I'm Worried About My Wife's Mental Health.
My wife just had a baby 3 weeks ago. At first she was very happy, but now she's acting strangely. She seems to be having hallucinations and keeps talking about angels talking to her. She is refusing to talk to her doctor because she's "never been more fine in [her] life". It's kind of scaring me and I don't feel right about leaving her with the baby. What's happening to my wife and should I contact her doctor myself?

definitelly you should talk to someone. there is a post partum depression, meaning most of the women suffer from a depression due to the delivery and the separation,It is kinda normal because we are talking about hormons here, but when goes beyond of this, thinks like halucinations or paranoia is very serious.Maybe your wife is having a serious depression prelong with something more serious.

I would definitely talk to her doctor she may be having a form of post postpartum depression. This doe not appear to be a normal after birth reaction. Her doctor is the only one that can help you and advise you at this time. The doctor may want to see her and that can be done at the baby's next visit to the doctor. In the meantime keep calm.

It maybe worth talking to the health visitor or midwife, or as you say your doctor, if you are worried about post natal depression it does show in all kinds of forms. Do you think she is coping well with the baby, has she neglected or struggled to keep up with feeding or anything like that, they are the kind of things you need to know. It maybe that she might just feel so elated that she has a baby, like maybe she feels blessed or something like that, but if this is behaviour that you have not ever seen before, it would be a good idea to get a second opinion from someone who knows about this kind of thing. If you didnt do anything and something happened to your wife or your new baby, I don't think you would ever forgive yourself... so go talk to a professional and see what they have to say, but keep an eye on your wife.

hello there and sorry to hear that, but sometimes after give birth some woman get mental healthy problems, some develops depression, and anothers if they have some pre disposition or family history that shows some mental illness, they can get to suffer of this after give birth, and this explains coz of the hormone levels and the emotional changes that they experieced during the pregnancy, so yes you should with no hesitation contact her doctor coz if it is something that need cares as soon as she get the right treatment more soon she backs to normal. hallucinations are not normal after give birth. Good Lucky and cheers.
