Nicotine Products While Pregnant
I have been a smoker for several years. When I found out that I was expecting, I tried to quit smoking "cold turkey". I have been able to cut back a little, but I just can't quit. Are nicotine products such as gum or patches safe for my baby?

I think they have the same effect as that they get into your bloodstream and therefore will reach your baby. Make an appointment with your midwife or gyna to discuss the options available and may be to learn more what really the damaging effects are on a developing baby, sure that might make you even more determined to stop smoking all together.

My advice to quit smoking because you're pregnant, is to ask help from your doctor. Today, all clinics, health centers and hospitals have a department where they help anyone quit smoking, and including therapy groups, all sorts of methods that are overclocked to various types of personalities. In your case and how is pregnant, should seek a more healthier and safe to do so.

A lot of people say that a small quantity of alcohol is just okay but it has not be proven yet, or nothing that I know of. Pregnancy entails a lot of sacrifices. Anything bad for the baby should not be taken in by the mother. So might as well don't take any either drinking or included in food. Anyway, you can have all these when the baby is born, so a little sacrifice for a healthy baby is the best.

you are intoxicate your baby. try to thing that he/she could developed some sever form of bronchites or asthm so I guess it is better to think to his/her wealth then to your need. babies are miracles in our lives and definitely need to take care of them, not condammened them to sickness and diseases. take care!

I am sure that these products are healthier for your baby than smoking actual cigarettes. Well done on limiting your cigarettes per day - that will be a big plus for your baby's health. I think you should try and discuss the matter with your doctor, maybe he can recommend a product that can help you even more.

Nicotine is just one of the many harmful chemicals that smoking brings. Using nicotine replacement therapy during pregnancy is still safer than smoking. Nicotine gums and sprays deliver less amounts of nicotine into your system than nicotine patches. Instead of 24-hr nicotine patches, opt for those that deliver nicotine for only within 16 hours. It is very important to keep the nicotine level in your system as low as possible. The risks of nicotine use during pregnancy are too dear to gamble on. These risks include premature births, birth defects, and miscarriages.
