Quit Smoking Aid During Pregnancy
I recently found out that I am pregnant. I have been a smoker for many years and am having trouble quitting "cold turkey". Would it be safe for the baby if I tried a nicotine product like a patch or chewing gum?

Not sure if that will make a difference. Your baby will not be exposed to you inhaling smoke but the nicotine will still get into your bloodstream, and I guess, will have the same effect on your unborn baby. I would ask advice form your midwife or gyna to learn more about the damage smoking and / or nicotine patches/ gum can do to your baby. That might get you even more determined to succeed in stopping with smoking.

Unfortunately it is dangerous too for the kid, is some nicotine dose that affect his health, so it would be better to drop them death. Or if it is too difficult for you you could reduce them severely to 1 or 2 mostly. I was lucky enough to be very sick when I felt the smoke so I had no problem to quit them over my pregnancy. Try to think more to your baby then to your need!

Its very hard to just quit - I know because I was in the same position as you. I always thought that when I fell pregnant it would be a good enough incentive to quit - but its not that easy, and I did not succeed in quitting. Definitely try to limit the amount of cigarettes you smoke per day. Each one that you do not smoke helps your baby. I am sure that a patch or chewing gum would be healthier for the baby than cigarettes. Perhaps ask your doctor/pharmacist what he recommends?

Nicotine is nicotine no matter which form it comes in. The gum and the patches are less harmful than cigarettes. I was a smoker when I got pregnant and my doctor told me that it would be better for me to cut back to two cigarettes a day rather than quit and have my body go into shock. I would definitely recommend talking to your doctor to go over your options.

I am a smoker too before I gave birth to my three daughters. I find a hard time stopping this vice of mine but I have no choice but to stop smoking. It's either you stop smoking, nicotine content products or you suffer the consequence and have a very unhealthy baby. Your choice!

I am sure the need of smoking or to take your dose is big but you have to think to your kid first. the nicotine is dangerous for the kid as well the tobacco from the cigarettes. Try to smoke only few and with time to reduce to 0 the cigarettes.it will be good for you and especially for the kid. good luck!
