I Have My Gestational Diabetes Test Coming Up.

I'm 27 weeks and I have my gestational diabetes test next Wednesday. How do they do this test and can what I eat for a few days ahead of time effect the results?

You will have to drink a glucose solution. 12 hours before the test you are not supposed to drink or eat anything. Before that you must eat what you usually eat, for the test to be fair and not be influenced by you eating healthy for a few days before the test. It`s in the baby`s best interest.

To know how they do it, a layman cannot predict it because it a professional work which needs specialized well trained people in it. so if you want to know how they do it, it will be advisable yo see laboratory testers or your doctor him self.
as for the type of food to eat, i will suggest protein foods, vegetables and minerals.

You go on fruit and vegestable diet. Ampalaya is very good for elevated sugar. You just eat this as salad. You can make one by simply adding onions, tomatoes and calamansi drops. You try this. It is good for your blood also and for the baby as well. I had gestational diabetes, too. I just go on fruits and ampalaya vegestables.

This is test where in test they give you to drink a solution of sugar in which 50 gm is of glucose in the doctors presence and after 1 hour they check the blood sugar and if the report is abnormal they will take the test again. All this test is not painful at all.

IN this test they will first give you a solution of sugar which contain 50 gm of glucose in the administration of doctor . After 1 hour they check the blood sugar level of you .if in case the report is abnormal they will again take the glucose 3 hour tolerance test.
