Positive Results For Group B Strep.
My doctor ran some blood work and I tested positive for GBS. He said that 1 out of every 4 women have this bacteria in them without knowing it. What does having group B strep mean for my baby, is he in danger?

No he is not in danger,majority of babies who get GBS from their mothers do not have any problems. A few, however, normally become sick. But it good too for you to ask your doctor to explain to you the meaning of those words.Or you can consult pharmacist around your community.

Indeed, many women have GBS without being aware of it and it is very common even during pregnancy. Because you are pregnant you should follow a treatment prescribed by your doctor to prevent infections to your baby. It will be ok, your baby will be fine. Keep it under observation.

hi there, for your baby it maybe means born before 37 weeks, and get the GBS in the delivery as well, but there is not a way to know before see what will happen, if your doctor did not scared you that means it is not something to worry about now, and that is a bactery that many pregnant women have and really lots dont know. GBS germ normally found in intestine and in genitical tract . This is not harmful for the women but the baby can be infected with this including infection in blood , spinal fluid and the lungs.to prevent that are benefit of taking antibiotic during the labor. Its better now not to worry and dont get stress.
