I had a yeast infection around the time that I should have got my period. I treated the infection but never got my period? I just took a pregnancy test and it was positive. Did the yeast infection treatment I used hurt my baby?

Monday 8th of February 2010 05:52:26 PM OTC anti-yeast medication should be used under the doctor`s supervision when you are pregnant.Considering the fact that you didn`t know about your existing pregnancy , it all depends on the length of the treatment, how many pills did you take, the interval, the quantity of each pill. Ask a doctor to evaluate all the medicine you took and if it can hurt your baby or not.
From my experiene, it happened to me the same with treating an infection. Without knowing I was pregnant I took around 10 pills of antibiotics...the doctor said it`s too little amount and my girl is now healthy and happy. Wish you the same.

Saturday 15th of May 2010 06:26:04 PM No it cannot heart your baby, yeast infection can only disturb you your self. And even since the sickness was heeled before you was pregnental tested positive, i don't it think has any thing concerning your baby. But in order to be fully certify with your question, it is good you consult your midwife for better explanation.

Tuesday 9th of February 2010 10:58:06 PM If the treatment you used with the yeast infection is topical or some kind of external medication, you need not worry about hurting your baby. However, if the test would allow you to take in the medicine inside your body while you are pregnant, you should immediately consult your doctor about it.

Tuesday 22nd of June 2010 03:26:06 AM No yeast infection treatment wont hurt your baby if you try to remove that naturally as such its better to avoid more drugs .Normally infection wont affect the baby inside womb but at the time of delivery as it passes through the vagina may be because of that baby get affected with mouth infection some patches can be seen in that case.
