How Soon Can I Ask My Doctor To Strip The Membranes?
|
I'm 39 weeks pregnant and more than ready to meet my new little bean. I'm terribly uncomfortable and have been having severe headaches for the last 2 weeks. My friend's doctor stripped the membranes for her and she went into the labor within 2 hours. How soon can I request to have my membranes stripped?

Tuesday 22nd of June 2010 12:01:35 AM Doctor suggest this membrane stripped when mother is sick and health provider says thats this safe now for your infant but normally this is suggested when the lady is of 42 weeks and having problem .Normally doctor wont suggest this as not safe for infant vaginally .You have unexplained vaginal bleeding during the pregnancy.

Thursday 18th of March 2010 04:52:52 AM Hi there mom, and you should talk with the professional and see what is the best option now, induce labor with no health issue or need involved is quite not what the doctors recomend, what you should say is what the discomfort you have been passinh and even report the headache as well, coz some headaches are symptoms of high blood pressure, and them may is that the reason you need to ask now to induce your labor. Cheers and good lucky.

Sunday 16th of May 2010 10:13:13 AM One cannot decide exactly how soon you can ask your doctor to strip your membrane.the only thing you can do is to just feel and ask your doctor to know weather your membrane is about to be striped or not.
If you can be strip soon he will tell you and if you cannot do it at that time he will tell you again with the reason why.

Tuesday 9th of February 2010 03:58:46 PM It depends on doctor. Some doctors does not do this if it is not necessary.
they do this operation when is a delay of delivery, or when you are enough delatated and the membranes are not broken.so if you are in the second option, they do that when you are 7-8 delatated, no sooner.
