Is It Safe To Lift My Son While Pregnant?
|
I have a son who is 4 years old and about 43 pounds. He is a pretty independent little man, but still has times when he wants me to carry him up to bed and stuff. Is it safe for me to pick him up while pregnant?

Tuesday 9th of February 2010 04:23:32 PM Definitely not! there are some risks involved but not necessary to happened to you.
Maybe you can convince your kid it is better for the baby, to take care of him by non lifting him up.
43 pounds can be dangerous for you, especially when you are until 4 months old.
After this period there are no more such risks involved.
take care!

Wednesday 10th of February 2010 08:31:11 AM If the doctor hasn`t told you to stop from lifting heavy weights and you don`t have a past history of misscarriages because of that, there is no harm done if you lift you 4 year-old once in a while. As you advance in your pregnancy, you yourself will notice pains when lifting heavy things. Take care of yourself.

Saturday 15th of May 2010 04:39:10 PM i will advise you get a house helper who take in charge of carrying the four years boy and also help in some house help.
as a pregnant woman, you are suppose to always be safe from carrying heavy loads.being tied because of over work, always be resting and in fresh air blowing places, etc. so carrying a big boy like that can harm your pregnancy health.

Wednesday 16th of June 2010 11:46:11 AM Congratulations! During my pregnancy, I had some pain in my hips and abdomen as early as the 2nd month. And because of this, just to be safe, I avoid lifting or carrying heaving objects and this includes toddlers. Carrying heavy objects put pressure in the already pressure pelvis. So I hope it is possible to just talk it over with your son, so he won't ask you to carry him to bed. Take care!

Wednesday 17th of March 2010 09:45:28 AM hello there dear, all depend about how much you keep carry him on, and as long as you are getting near to the end of the pregnancy is better to avoid everything over 10 kilogrames. so there is more safe to avoid carry weight while you are pregnant, may you can try deal and make him go to bed alone and let him sit on your lap when the bed time arrives, or see if you can leave him stay laid with his head on your lap after he got bed, but about keep carryimng him is better start avoid.
