Do Mothers Of Twins Gain More Weight?
|
I just found out the good news, its twins! Now I'm trying to mentally prepare for what to expect. I know that all pregnant women gain weight, but do women who are pregnant with twins gain more weight, and is it necessary?

Monday 8th of February 2010 03:19:37 AM Congratulations on having a twin! Gaining much weight than usual depends largely on what you eat. While it's true that you gain more weight than normal single-child pregnancy, but it is entirely up to you to manage it. You should avoid eating chocolates and drinking very cold sodas. Also avoid smoking. Eat a lot of fruits, drink as much water as you can and exercise. This will help you move a lot better than just sit and sleep all day.

Saturday 6th of March 2010 12:20:13 AM I am a mother of identical twins. During my pregnancy I did not gain more weight as expected for pregnant of twins. My babies are healthy when they came out. Gaining more weight or not during pregnancy does not really effect the baby. But it all depends on the advise of the doctors. If your baby needs more vitamin from you then, you have to gain a little weight. Remember that it is all for the baby not you.

Wednesday 17th of March 2010 09:27:31 AM hi hi there, and the answer is no, that all depend about how you will change your alimentation, some women get lots of weight during the pregnancy but some do coz they think the reason is, since i'm pregnant i need to eat for 2 or even for 3 in the twin cases, what is completly wronmg, you dont need to change how much you eat coz is not how much you will eat more that will imply about how much your baby will consum, the fetus will get the nutirent they need and no matter if you eat the same or more, the limit will not get over about what they need. what you need to look is get a health meal that has the vitamins that you and your babies need not counting the calories of it. cheers.

Saturday 15th of May 2010 01:41:01 PM I can say it is true but in some circumstances i will say no. A woman may already has wait so if such woman is carrying twins pregnant you will just conclude that because she is carrying twins pregnancy, that is why her weight is strong. and on the other hand a certain woman may not have weight but because she is carrying twins pregnancy her weight will increase. so you see how it is? But i will conclude by saying that 70% of women with twins pregnancy are having more weight.
