What Is The Difference Between Iui And Ivf
|
My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 8 months with no success. We haven't given up on conceiving yet, but we're starting to think that if we make it to a year, we're going to start looking into other options. I'm 30 and he is 32 and we don't want to wait too much longer to start are family. What is the difference between IUI and IVF?

Saturday 15th of May 2010 12:53:09 PM It is really true that there are certain genuine differences between IVF and IUI.Both two are commonly well known to be the treatments for infertility.
IVF refers to a process in which the female ovaries are stimulated to produce a number of ovum cells in the womb of a woman.
IUI refers to a process by which the semen is collected after an ejaculation of a man. but lean more about it kindly see your doctor.

Wednesday 16th of June 2010 08:29:02 AM The difference between IUI and IVF is:
IUI (intra Uterine Insemination) is when the male gives a sperm sample, then the sample is 'washed', the good sperm are taken out and inserted into the woman's cervix through a catheter. IUIs are useful when there is male factor infertility because the weaker sperm don't have to travel as far.
IVF (in vitro insemination) is when the egg is taken out of the female's body and the sperm is taken from the male and they are joined together outside the body (test tube baby) then inserted into the female.
Compared with IVF, IUI is much less invasive. The woman just has to have a catheter inserted, it is quick, easy and painless (for the most partand is also less expensive.
Some refuse IVF because the chances of multiples is incredibly high.
Hope you become parents soon. Best wishes.

Wednesday 17th of March 2010 09:10:47 AM hello there, either proccess are avaiable just at medical conditions, so you guys must need to run a battery of tests to prove that the natural way is almost impossible to conceive before you pick some of this methods the IUI is when the male gives the sperm and the sperms pass to selection of what are the best sperms and it is implanted in the women uterus by a catheter, the ivf is when the women give the eggs and the sperm is joined the egg the proccess happens all outside and them after fertilize the eggs they are inserted in the woman body. the IUI is less invasive and the costs are lower than IVF.
