Placental Abruption--will It Be Okay?
I have been having some contractions on and off. I'm only 22 weeks. My doctor did an ultrasound to quell my fears and it turns out that I have a mild placental abruption. He wants to monitor it weekly. He says that the baby is doing fine and that he seems to be getting enough oxygen, but that if it gets worse I may have to deliver early. What are the odds of carrying to full term with mild placental abruption?

I think if you are to carry it up to the full term and the and the placental abruption is not reducing, it will be a very big problem to you and the baby.so as your doctor says, always make sure you go to him weekly to for check up so that in case it is getting worse, he will let you deliver early to save your health.

THe mild placenta abrupt ion is like poorly positioned in uterus , is structured abnormally and not function properly while for baby the placenta is very important to be healthy .This normally occurs at third semester and studies says that immature baby possibilities are more , in this vaginal bleeding can be there, continuous abdominal pain could be there.

so it happened to my first pregnancy too.I delivered it on time, and even on limit time (40 weeks). I had no other problems, then that placenta abruption. the doctor told me i need to stay in bed for couple of weeks, to stay away to effort and to have much rest. it was ok, so i had no other problems.

hello there, and i bet the odd time is all now and then, coz you will need to monitoring your pregnancy to see if the abruption do not progress, it can happens and then your doctor will try as soon as possible induce a labor, but almost all abruption cases brings prematures birth before 34 weeks of pregnancy, so after give birth you and your baby probably will be in a intensive care unit to be treat and watched carefully.
