Do You Feel Anything Different When You Start To Dilate?

I'm due in 3 weeks and am starting to have a lot of pelvic pressure and discomfort. This is my first pregnancy, so I don't know what to expect. Can a woman feel when she is starting to dilate?

Wednesday 17th of March 2010 06:11:35 AM hello there mom, and yes a woman in a dilatation proccess can feel pressure and back discomfort, don't forget that the dilatation is what makes your cervix start the open proccess to your baby come out of you, so there is always a change in your body, and that changes cause some physical symptoms and signals as pressure and discomfort, for some women this proccess starts a month before give birth, to others is just some days before or even just in the due time. Cheers and I wish you a great time when your time to delivery arrives.

Thursday 18th of March 2010 11:39:52 PM in my experience, i felt an excruciating pressure on my pelvis.. the further the dilatation process happens, the pressure on my pelvis increases.. but the more i focus on it, the pain appears sharper.. so i usually divert the pain by deep breathing..you have to assess the frequency and duration of your contractions.. if it is becoming more frequent and increasing in duration it might be a possible sign of delivery.. sometimes the pressure on your lower back also increases when nearing birth...

Thursday 22nd of April 2010 04:04:52 AM Yes, you can feel something is moving there in your stomach. Sign of child bearing usually starts when your water bag comes out already. This time you must call your doctor immediately otherwise go to the hospital as soon as possible. Pray and stay calm during your labor so that your situation will not worsen.
