Epidurals take ALL the pain away while they are topped up. You may feel some discomfort once it's worn off.

Hi there future mom, and all depends about how your body works over the anestesy, is not everyone that got a completly pain relief with epidural or any other anestesy, the reasons that work over the epidural effect are, the conditions of your body how it will correspond over the epidural, how good it will be applicated as well, but don't worry about it dear coz usualy it works pretty well, good lucky when your delivery time arrive. Cheers

Labor is the most area of pregnancy where mom used to be afraid of. I suggest you must stay cool and calm so that it the pain will not be exagerated. It really painful, but if you think that it is not it will not worsen the situation. Usually the doctor will advise you of what medicine to take to help you with your labor.
