Pid And Conception
|
I was diagnosed with PID (Pelvic Inflammatory Disease) before I was married. I've read that there can be complications with conception if you have PID. Is there any treatment that I can seek to reverse the effects of my condition that will increase my chances of conception?

Sunday 28th of February 2010 04:05:32 AM I am not a doctor but if you were diagnosed with PID, I suppose you have undergone treatment to it. However, complications during conception may only occur if and when you were not treated accordingly. In reality, women who were diagnosed with PID have had a very sensitive way of conceiving and always chance to conceive. At most care and constant communication with the doctor is imperative.

Wednesday 17th of February 2010 02:11:14 AM I believe that your condition PID will make it more difficult but not impossible to conceive. It will also carry a greater risk for miscarriage. But I know somebody with your condition who has gotten pregnant (I'll be honest it was a long and painful process with many failed attempts) and now has a healthy baby boy. I would seek help from a specialist so you are very well informed before you start the emotional rollercoaster of getting pregnant.

Saturday 20th of February 2010 11:01:59 AM PID can cause infertility and also be a dangerous problem as it can bring on ectopic pregnancies. This is because the falopian tubes get blocked because of the infection and the fertilised egg cannot move into the uterus. It is best to consult your doctor and get a clean certificate before you attempt to conceive. If there is any infection left or if there is any scar tissue because of PID the doctor will first have to ensure that it is safe to conceive.
