Can You Collect Child Support From A Father Across State Lines?

I'm 21 and 17 weeks pregnant. The baby's father left the state and is living with his brother, to avoid any financial obligation. I have no interest in having any sort of relationship with him, but I do want for him to hold up his end of the financial responsibility. Can I pursue child support across state lines when the baby comes, what about help with medical bills?

It may depend on the state you live in, but most states will make him pay regardless of where he lives now. You may even have a better chance of getting a judge to award you child support since the father may not even show up in court to fight it. Check your state laws and good luck!

yes you can still ask for the child support even if he is living in another state, i don't know which state you must seek for coz each state has different laws, but usualy who pay is who does not live with the kid. as I know is not coz he moved for another state that he can run away from his obligations, so you should ask to a laywer how to procedure to get the right and garantee the right to your kid receive the father's support, but i'm not sure about the medical bills, the child support is completly restricted to attent the child, but you can always consult a laywer to inform you better.

I will advice you go and see some one from the husbands family to advice him to come back rather than saying that you don't have any interest in having any sort of relationship with him,for that is bad thinking.Every woman praying to get husband to marry, why should get chance and want to misuse it.
so try thinking of welcoming him back.

Yes ofcourse you should get financial support from your husband as he is responsible for this and this is the time for him to take responsibility of his wife and kid if he is not agree then you can take the help of court or law in domestic cases of court.
