Would A Hot Bath Induce Labor?
|
I am 40 weeks today. I went to my appointment and my doctor says it could be another week or two. I don't think I could stand to be pregnant any longer. Someone suggested I take a hot both to induce labor. At this point I'm ready to try anything. Can taking a hot bath really induce labor and is it dangerous for the baby?

Tuesday 16th of March 2010 05:47:45 AM May a hot bath can induce you in a labor job, and why coz when you are tense your body still tight and all does not help in these conditions a labor to start, so what is the difference that a hot bath do, when we get in contact with a hot temperature our body usualy relax and it must help you to start a labor during when you are more likely relaxed than if not. but for some women it does helps others no so it is not something 100% right, but a hot bath is always a good treat to us isn't it? Cheers.

Monday 5th of April 2010 12:58:04 AM A hot bath will not induce labour but having sex often will. There are prostegladins in sperm that can soften the cervix and start labour, and it's safe for the baby. Good luck.

Monday 5th of April 2010 07:45:43 PM I think no. It depends on your body reaction. With my experience I have really no idea about how to induce labor. Though I had my first pregnancy , I cant remember what happened during the labor I forgot child birth experience after I have seen my baby. Honestly the pain is worth just for the sake of a handsome baby boy.
