I'm Supposed To Pick A Pediatrician.
|
At my last appointment, my doctor asked who my pediatrician is. This is my first baby. I didn't realize I needed to pick out a pediatrician before the baby was born and haven't given it any thought. How do I pick out the best pediatrician for my baby?

Thursday 4th of March 2010 06:42:21 AM The best thing to do is to meet with a few different pediatricians before deciding. If you make an appointment with them and let them know that you are pregnant, they are very accommodating. At least the friendly ones are and that is definitely something you want in a person who is going to be handling your baby. Most often than not you are going to want someone you feel comfortable with because then you can have confidence that they are treating your child the same way. With care and affection.

Monday 15th of March 2010 04:29:15 PM I never heard of it before, and I bet many others mommies not as well, but just in case maybe he asked if you picked coz some mothers usualy get the same doctor they had as well to care of their kids, like your pediatrician when you had one, or maybe he asked just in case that he were going to indicate one that he knows. but sometimes the doctor that care of your prenatal the obstetrician usualy are pediatricians as well. and if you have no sure who you will choose as a peditrician to your baby wait until he born to find out what will be your option.

Monday 5th of April 2010 07:33:37 PM When I have my first baby too, I find it difficult to look for my pediatrician. My ob gyne before was in a high class clinic and with costly charges too. I search for other doctor and finally I found one and with a pediatrician partner thru a friend referral. You may ask your friends for any referrals. Some ob gyne have work partners during child birth.
