Are Micowaves Safe During Pregnancy?
|
I know that you should avoid sources of radiation like x-rays because they can hurt your baby. We use our microwave fairly often in our house. Can using the microwave while I'm pregnant hurt my baby?

Monday 15th of March 2010 10:23:29 AM the dangerous of microwaves are the same risk of radiation over cellphones as well, the radiation is not strong enough to make any changes in your baby, and there has no scientific studies that really proves that microwaves and pregnancy are a problem, but if you worry about it, just change the way to warm or cook your meals instead of microwaves you must choose the traditional owe. good lucky.

Saturday 27th of March 2010 01:15:52 PM Usually microwave ovens are not safe for health that to your pregnant please avaoid using microwave ovens. Long back in a website I saw difference between microwave heating and ordinary heating. place water in microwave oven for some time and take it out. After the microwave water cools down pour to your plants. your plant leaves will not be fresh. Take some water and heat it in a stove and after the water gets cold pour it to some other plant, the leaves will be fresh as seen before. Always cooking using microwave ovens are not safe

Saturday 27th of March 2010 01:56:38 PM The dangers of microwave radiation, much like the dangers of cell phone and other non-ionizing forms of radiation, have absolutely no basis in scientific fact. Microwave radiation can't change the molecular structure of anything, because it simply doesn't have enough energy to break apart chemical bonds. To put it in perspective, plain old visible blue light has many, many times the energy of a microwave, and can break apart weak chemical bonds (this is what causes photochemical smog). Microwaves actually have less energy than the infrared radiation (i.e. heat) that is given off by our bodies and the earth. If you want to worry about radiation, worry about the small amount of UVB light that manages to reach the earth. That radiation has enough energy to break apart the chemical bonds that make up DNA, causing cancer. Microwaves, at 1/100,000 of the energy necessary to break apart chemical bonds, are closer to radio waves. All they do is heat up your food.
