Monday 15th of February 2010 12:24:30 AM Of course. When you buy a killer dress and find out that there is a little piece of string hanging out of the sleeve, you still wear it.
There are several options that you can take to help your baby deal with it. There are operations available to help babies deal with it.
If you think that you won't be financial able to pay for it, you can search several organizations that operate cleft lip/pallet on children for free.
That is a very trivial matter and what your child would need is very ounce of support you can give her for a full life!

Sunday 14th of February 2010 04:57:50 AM This will of course be entirely your decision, but I would say that a cleft lip or even a cleft pallet is not a reason to discontinue the pregnancy. Your child will not be born with a severe mental disability or a short life prognoses, he or she will need surgery to correct the cleft lip but this is someting in my opinion that will not affect the life of this little baby, he or she can have a perfectly happy healthy life. But it doesnt mean that this does not affect you as your baby will not be born as the perfect little one you had imagened. I am sure your doctor should be able to help you with some advice on counselling regarding this. Good luck!

Sunday 14th of February 2010 06:10:53 AM Cleft lip is curable to an extent by surgery. But the main decision to take is do you want you child to undergo the surgery? Because cleft lip and cleft pallate leaves scars behind for life. Since your pregnancy is still in the second month, I think you can take the call of discontinuing the pregnancy and have a better luck next time.

Tuesday 16th of February 2010 07:32:00 PM There are a lot of operations that help mend the cleft lip problem. You're already on the second phase and I highly recommend to do the right thing. Don't terminate the baby beceause you're scared about the appearance. You are mom, and as a mom one of our responsibility is accept and love our kids no matter what they are. Do the right thing and save the baby, continue with the pregnancy.

Wednesday 17th of February 2010 05:15:01 AM The labial crack occurs one in each 1000 nados livings creature, the palatina crack occurs one in each 2500 nados livings creature and set one in each 1300.
The anxious parents, many times, encourage the plastic surgeon to operate the child with crack immediately, but in general he is better to wait after until one month of life, so that the nutricional, cardiovascular and pulmonary state as well as the capacity to fight the infection is better. Talk to your doctor for more confidence.

Monday 1st of March 2010 03:35:59 AM HAVING A CHILD IS NOT LIKE AN APPLE THAT WHEN YOU DON'T LIKE IT YOU CAN EASILY THROW IT AWAY. HAVING A CHILD IS ENTIRELY DIFFERENT. A CHILD IS A LABOR OF LOVE, CHERISH IT AND LOVE HIM/HER NO MATTER HOW HE/SHE LOOKS LIKE. ANYWAY THE DOCTOR ISN'T SURE ABOUT IT. MIRACLES HAPPEN, YOU'LL NEVER KNOW.
