Should I Cancel My Business Trip?

I work for an advertising firm that does a lot of business with clients in Japan. I was offered the opportunity to join a small team that has an upcoming trip to Tokyo in 3 weeks. We would be there for 4 days. At that point I will be 17 weeks along. Is it safe for me to even go?

Traveling safely during pregnancy depends on whether you have any problems that need special care, how far along you are in your pregnancy, and your comfort. For most women, traveling is safe during pregnancy.
The best time to travel is probably the middle of your pregnancy—between weeks 14 and 28. Most common pregnancy emergencies usually happen in the first and third trimesters. After 28 weeks, it may be harder for you to move around or sit for a long time. During mid-pregnancy, your energy has returned, morning sickness is gone, and you are still mobile. Paying attention to the way you feel is the best guide for your activities.
Although check with your doctor if you’ve had medical problems during your pregnancy, such as:
spotting
diabetes
high blood pressure
a previous early birth
before your flight to Tokyo.

It really depends on your body reaction to climates and travel situation in such place. When I was pregnant I traveled, too, but must take extra necessary precaution. Maybe you can consult your ob gyne on this matter. She is the best person can give you advise about that situation. Sometime we forget to consult such things to our doctor, that we keep wondering what to do.

Yes it still be safety for you to fly and be not so close to home during this time, the trips must be avoid when you already be 4 or 5 weeks near to your due date, coz tghe labor job can come before the expected so after you get into 32 weeks of pregnancy better stop the bussiness travel and stay near home.
