I'm Trying To Pregnancy Proof My House.
I am trying to get things as pregnancy friendly as possible. I've loaded the kitchen with healthy food, bought a couple extra pillows, and handed over the litter box duties to my husband. Now I need to clean out my cleaning supplies. What cleaning products should I avoid during pregnancy?

The researchers advice is:just make sure you have good ventilation where you'll be working, and use gloves to avoid getting the cleaning products on your skin. Avoid cleaning the oven, though, since it's hard to get good ventilation in such a tight space. If any fumes make you feel nauseated, get someone else to do the cleaning, or, better yet, choose products that are environmentally friendlier, such as vinegar and baking soda. Natural food shops and some supermarkets sell cleaning products that are free of harsh and toxic chemicals. Reducing the number of harmful chemicals in your house is probably a good idea for the future anyway, since you won't want your child exposed to them later. Finally, regardless of whether you're pregnant, remember never to mix different chemicals, such as ammonia and bleach, as the fumes that result can be very dangerous to anyone inhaling them.

Hello there, and most of the products should be avoid, now more than ever, many products are even dangerous when you are not pregnant coz many of them has toxic substancies in their composition, a great way is start create your own natural products now, you can see around natural food store you can find substancies that are pretty great and can be used as cleaning production as vinegar, lemon juice, baking soda, check out some books they offer you a list of natural substancies that can be used to make cleaning products.

Anything with harsh chemicals or fumes carry a slight risk of causing problems for the baby. If you are the super-cautious type, get rid of all of your non-organic cleaning supplies and replace them with organic types like Seventh Generation or Babyganics (available at Babies R Us). If not, wear gloves and leave the heavy fume cleaning to someone else when possible - specifically bathrooms where ventilation is usually poor.
