Amniotic fluid is the fluid that covers the baby while it is in the womb. This fluid protects the baby and provides the nutrients he/ she needs to fully develop. When the baby breathes in the fluid, the fluid helps develop the lungs. The amniotic fluid also protects the baby from blows to the mother's tummy. Doctors use amniotic to help with determining if birth defects are occurring in the fetus. It is important to have enough fluid or there could be complicatiosn.

According to Encyclopedia: Amniotic fluid or liquor amnii is the nourishing and protecting liquid contained by the amniotic sac of a pregnant woman. The amniotic sac grows and begins to fill, mainly with water, around two weeks after fertilization. After a further 10 weeks the liquid contains proteins, carbohydrates, lipids and phospholipids, urea and electrolytes, all of which aid in the growth of the fetus. In the late stages of gestation much of the amniotic fluid consists of fetal urine.

hello there future mommy, the amniotic fluid is the liquid that is present inside your placenta is that same liquid that garantee that your baby is safety, and as long as your baby grows the amount of liquid raise as well month to month it changes. and doctors always look at the amniotic fluid as a indicator of health to your baby as long as too much fluid is not healthy and too less is not healthy too... coz the baby development depends so much about how is the amount of amniotic liquid.
