I Keep Waking Up At Night.
I am 14 weeks pregnant and I'm having trouble with sleep. I don't have a problem getting to sleep or with sleeping positions. It's the waking up over and over that is the problem. I wake up hourly some nights. It isn't even to go to the bathroom most times. I just wake up and can't get back to sleep very easily. Does this happen to other women and what can I do about it?

Many expectant parents know how hard it might be to get a good night's sleep in the months that follow the birth of their child, but who would have guessed that catching some ZZZs during pregnancy would prove to be so difficult? Actually, you may sleep more than usual during the first trimester of your pregnancy. It's normal to feel tired as your body works to protect and nurture the developing baby. The placenta (the organ that nourishes the fetus until birth) is just forming, your body is making more blood, and your heart is pumping faster. It's usually later in pregnancy, though, that most women have trouble getting enough deep, uninterrupted sleep. The first and most pressing reason behind sleep problems during pregnancy is the increasing size of the fetus, which can make it hard to find a comfortable sleeping position. If you've always been a back or stomach sleeper, you might have trouble getting used to sleeping on your side (as doctors recommend). Also, shifting around in bed becomes more difficult as the pregnancy progresses and your size increases.

When you keep waking up at night, maybe there is something bothering you. Better consult this to your ob gyne once you have your pre natal check up. You must be aware that pregnant woman should always have a good sleep to stay healthy. We should be stress free for the baby to stay healthy, too.
