I'm Thinking About Getting A Home Doppler.
|
I saw an advertisement for a home doppler gadget that amplifies the babies heartbeat. I'm really tempted to get one, but I don't want to waste my money either. How soon can a home doppler pick up the baby's heartbeat and do they even work that well?

Monday 15th of March 2010 07:07:50 AM I think it is a waste of money and not safe to you and your baby. The dopplers are tools that must be operator by a professional that knows how to use it, and how many times you can use it, and which are the risks and benefits of use it in a long term. I think the best way to use a doppler is waiting your prenatal appointments and use the one that your doctor have. Some doctors says that the home dopplers will not always show you the heart beats and dopplers are not 100% safety if you over use them.

Wednesday 24th of March 2010 02:31:52 AM Fetal heart rate monitoring is one of the most important aspects of prenatal care. Beginning as early as the eighth week of pregnancy, you and your health care provider may be able to detect your baby’s heart rate. By listening regularly to your baby’s heart beat, you and your practitioner can ensure that she is in good health and growing properly.
Many women decide to monitor their baby’s heartbeat at home, in addition to all regular prenatal care visits. Though exciting, pregnancy can also be a nerve wracking time for many mothers, and being able to listen to baby’s heartbeat is often very reassuring.
