Found A Lump In My Breast.
I am 25 weeks pregnant. I was doing my self-breast exam last night and I found a lump. I'm trying to convince myself that it is just my milk ducts. Can that be true? Should I call my doctor and see him immediately? If this isn't pregnancy related, will they want to treat it immediately?

Breast soreness tends to come early in the first trimester, and is one of the first signs of pregnancy. The growth and changes in your boobs -- necessary to allow baby to feed after she arrives -- can cause major discomfort. Increased blood flow (caused by surging hormones, what else?) to your chest is probably making your boobs swollen and sensitive to the touch. The soreness should fade after your first trimester, though your cup size will continue to increase as milk ducts and milk-producing cells form. Your best defense? A supportive bra. Take a professional bra consultant up on their offer, and get an expert fitting. Make sure to leave some room for growing! but do consult your doctor for proper examination to get you protected.

hi there, first at all try relax and don't freak out right now, you can clal your doctor and he will check if it is or not something to worry about, and he will be able to see if it is something related just with your body changes during the pregnancy or if it is something serious as well, if it is something serious in some cases the treatment starts as soon as you find even if your are pregnant. but before you be sure about your case don't get down. hope it will help your decision. cheers

Whether you are pregnant or not, if you have a lump in your breast self diagnosis is dangerous. Yes, you should see your doctor immediately. It may not be serious but, the idea of milk ducts feeling like a lump in your breast is not realistic. As for treatment, only your doctor can know this as he sees you each month during the pregnancy and knows how you are progressing. The seriousness of the lump is the only thing that would cause the treatment to be immediate. Please see your doctor and do not wait and rely on self diagnosis.
