How Do I Eat Right During The First Trimester Of Pregnancy?
|
I feel so stereotypical. I am having a rough time with morning sickness. I want to get the nutrients I need because the first trimester is so crucial to my little one's development, but I can barely stomach the thought of eating. How do I avoid feeling so sick and still get what I need for a healthy first trimester of pregnancy?

Tuesday 16th of March 2010 04:38:17 AM I am really confused about it mommy conceivng differently. But with my case, when I conceived I think possitively. When I noticed that I was pregnant I had see a doctor. Then, I say to myself I will not vomit whatever I am going to eat. And I will not feel dizzy. Honestly, I never had any morning sickness like vomiting or dizziness at early morning. There is only an instance that sometimes I just want to sleep. My pregnancy tri-mester was so smooth, my stomach just bloated only that. In my experience , it just the way how you think and carry youself. MAy you can give it a try..

Thursday 18th of March 2010 04:24:58 PM I can certainly relate to your problem. I had morning sickness all day with all three of my children. My doctor recommended eating saltines. I ate so many of them that now I cannot stand to look at them. They did help to settle my stomach. I would recommend going to the hospital that you are going to have the baby and see the nutritionist. He/she will be able to give you a list of foods that will help you and the baby survive this ordeal. Good luck.

Saturday 20th of March 2010 09:59:13 AM I feel bad for you but like you... I had a very difficult pregnancy. I still had nausea and vomiting until my 5th month. And I can't even tolerate drinking milk and the taste of toothpaste :-)
It is very true that the first trimester is the most crucial. Since I wasn't able to stomach drinking milk (specially the ones with folic acid and are formulated for pregnant women, or those who were planning of conceiving). I just tried eating ice cream just to compensate with the milk contents of it. I kept eating just the food that I think my stomach can digest and not thinking of the possible downsides of it. It's all in the mind :-)
Try to see yourself enjoying eating healthy foods. Do your best to drink milk. I know it's too late for blaming myself... But because of my tolerating my urges of not eating properly and drinking milk... my son suffer from a neural tube deficiency.
