Marrying A Pregnant Woman, Can I Claim Paternity?
I am madly in love with a woman who is pregnant with another man's baby. We want to get married and I want to be the baby's father. The baby's real dad left for Iraq before they knew they were expecting. They weren't in a genuine relationship and he doesn't want anything to do with my fiance or the baby. If I marry a pregnant woman, can I put my name on the birth certificate and just claim paternity?

Of course. If you are married when baby born, is a legitime child of the marriage. Itīs a very simple form of adopt a baby. But, for your own and baby's safe, the best you can do is to get a paper sign by the biological father saying he refuse his paternity's rights, because in a couple of years he can change his mind and everything became a mess.

I bet you can put your name on baby certificate as long as you are the real dad now, if you guys has no news or have not heard of the biologyc dad, I think it gve you the right of claim the paternity, once again like you said the biologyc dad dont want anything with your fiance and the child.

You can take this as a legal issue and any lawyer who can deals in family cases can handle easily their are internal family laws which have different clauses to support & also to not to support you. secondly your country in which you are residing also have certain law for adaptation kindly ask with a specific adoption for a child he / she definitely helps you.
